My melancholy cat

I moved into a new villa recently and Jasper, my ginger cat, suddenly started to wee everywhere – he would stand with his head and front paws in his litter tray and wee on the floor. And on our bed and on our couch and in my bath and in the plants!!
He got so many hidings, I don’t think he quite knew what hit him. He has never, EVER acted like this before - even tho he should be called "Jasper the relocating cat" seeing as he has successfully moved about 5 times in his 3 year life-span.
After the fury of hidings subsided and I came to my senses, I eventually did some research on the net and found out that it’s either:

1. Emotional Issues
2. Bladder Infection
3. Something serious!/take pet to vet immediately.

The above points are causes for cats to wee, not the cause for me to hit him of course - my bladder is fine thank you.

Solution for my cat: I started giving him extra love every day, along with those yummy sachet's of wet catfood he loves. This was to check if it was maybe emotional and VOILA he suddenly stopped pissing in public places! I had forgotten to love my cat!! Gosh - imagine if I had a poor child.

Anyway - I realise I have been so busy with work and setting up a new life in Dubai after relocating – if my damn cat is feeling neglected, can you imagine how I feel! So as of Jasper’s peeing episode, my new resolution is to make time for the things in my life I care about. Things that I enjoy and that are important to and of course to cuddle my darling twin cats, Jasper and Sage.

I am surprised I have not started peeing everywhere and on everyone involuntarily as a result of lack of love to self and busy-ness,

Thanks for listening .... There will be more ramblings to follow when I have something valuable to share again.
